Intraoral Scanning/Digital Impressions
Patient comfort is a top priority for us. Rather than using old-fashioned, gooey impressions, we use intraoral scanning to obtain digital impressions we can directly upload into our software. This is useful for restorations such as crowns and bridges as well as teeth whitening trays and oral appliances. Our patients appreciate the comfort and convenience of this accurate way of taking an impression of your teeth. It also eliminates distortions and other inaccuracies common with physical impressions that can interrupt your treatment.
3-D Cone Beam Imaging
3-D imaging is one of the latest advances in digital dental radiography. The data obtained from Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has revolutionized dental diagnostics and treatment planning. CBCT gives us a three-dimensional image similar to that of a medical CT scan at a small fraction of the radiation dose and exposure time.
With the advent of CBCT, implants are placed with unparalleled accuracy. We plan third molar surgery with precise knowledge of nerve location; painful teeth and periodontal defects can also be diagnosed. Teeth needing endodontic treatment can be evaluated with a level of certainty previously unattainable.
Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays provide a higher resolution image than traditional film while requiring significantly less radiation exposure. A digital sensor captures a high-resolution image of your teeth. It can be instantly viewed, enlarged, and enhanced, helping the dentist, hygienist, and patient easily detect problems.
X-rays are an essential part of diagnosing dental conditions. We use this information to safely and accurately detect otherwise hidden pathology. Without x-rays, small problem areas that can be conservatively treated can go undetected until they become major issues requiring significant and costly dental treatment.
